Patch Me Up

12_09_14_Fashion IllustrationShoulder and elbow patches always come in with the cold weather. I love the supple leather that is soft to the touch and adds a splash of prep to any outfit. It can make a simple sweater or dress pop a bit or it can take a fancy sweater and bring it down to an everyday occasion depending on what you pair it with.

This green sweater is perfect for the cold winter months with a muted tone color scheme. It can go from fall through early spring and still look fashionable and appropriate. The length is great because it’s long enough to wear without tights on those balmy fall nights or you can add in tights and boots to handle the winter months.

Bold Blocking

Color blocking is one of the fastest ways to make you appear slimmer. The long strips of black in this dress help to nip in her waist and remove inches from a quick glance. The dark purple can help to conceal any bumps from the holiday food frenzy.

The different shapes made by the blocking can be flattering style for all body types. It’s hard to find a shape that flatters everyone but a simple body skimming sheath can do that. This dress would be perfect for all occasions from work to a holiday party.

Safe Travels and Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone has safe travels and a Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for this holiday where you can take the time to appreciate family, friends and great food.

Patterned Coats

Patterned coats are a must in the holiday season. There’s nothing better than jazzing up a dreary day with a bright color and snazzy pattern. While the winter months leave you running for the simple black coat, try breaking out! (Although, I must admit, I do have a bunch of simple black coats.)

I’ve been making a conscious effort to break out of the sea of black and liven up my wardrobe. It adds a little holiday cheer to your everyday.

Coats On

Halloween is over and it’s officially the start of the holiday season. It’s hands down one of my favorite parts of the year. The weather picks up a little chill and you need a coat with you at all times. Boston even had it’s first snow today! It may have been a mix of slush and snow but it still counts in my book.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! I don’t think you can ever be too old to celebrate or get into the spirit. I’m planning to attend a couple of parties planned this weekend with friends and I can’t wait to get dressed up. However, I must admit, I am TERRIBLE at picking out costumes. I change my mind at least 5 times each year and even at the end it’s different from my initial thought 2 hours before.

This drawing was inspired by dressing up to be a red carpet celebrity for the night. I hope everyone has a wonderful, candy filled night!
