Tip of the Hat

 

There’s something about a hat that can liven up an outfit. It makes a simple top and bottom pop with a flash of color. Plus it’s practical all year round!

I love wearing hats in the winter but struggle for ideas in the spring. Luckily, as the stores transition from winter to spring there is a ton of great inspiration out there.  I’ve keeping an eye out for ideas in which ones to add to my wardrobe. The winter sales also give you a chance to snag  a fun winter one to wear for the next couple weeks.

Scarves Around

I hate a love/hate relationship with scarves. I go through phases where I love them and can pair them with any outfit. The bigger, bold patterned silk scarves are my go to in order to add the finishing touch. They help to tie together different colors that would look strange together without the swirl of silk at the top. I hate them when I’ll try out an outfit that looks fabulous laid out but once it’s on, the scarf is too much. Overall I love them but the key is to find a good balance.

Dream Purses

Purses, similar to jewelry, shoes and just about every accessory, are items I believe you can never have too much of. They help to push an outfit in a more formal or casual direction. A good purse is one of the best investments you can make in your wardrobe. It will last you years and still look brand new.

The purses above all play off of a red, white and black color scheme. It is one of my favorite color combinations and all these purses would work well in my wardrobe!

Pop of Green

Summer is one of my favorite seasons. It’s warm, beautiful and you can wear white. I know I’ve previously talked about my love of white jeans but I also love white dresses! I’m attracted to the color that begs to be accessorized. A white dress feels like a blank canvas that needs layers of necklaces, funky shoes and chunky earrings. The simplicity allows her to play with the color green in her jewelry and shoes. Can’t you see her wandering around in this dress all summer long?

Hats off

Hats are the allusive accessory that I love but need to incorporate more into my wardrobe. It’s hard to find that perfect compromise between trendy and looking like a grandma (which I admit I border at times!). I created this design that I think just nails it.
