Patterned coats are a must in the holiday season. There’s nothing better than jazzing up a dreary day with a bright color and snazzy pattern. While the winter months leave you running for the simple black coat, try breaking out! (Although, I must admit, I do have a bunch of simple black coats.)
I’ve been making a conscious effort to break out of the sea of black and liven up my wardrobe. It adds a little holiday cheer to your everyday.
Happy Halloween! I don’t think you can ever be too old to celebrate or get into the spirit. I’m planning to attend a couple of parties planned this weekend with friends and I can’t wait to get dressed up. However, I must admit, I am TERRIBLE at picking out costumes. I change my mind at least 5 times each year and even at the end it’s different from my initial thought 2 hours before.
This drawing was inspired by dressing up to be a red carpet celebrity for the night. I hope everyone has a wonderful, candy filled night!
What a wonderful day to celebrate! I loved Rice Krispies growing up. I would eat the per-packaged ones for lunch or as a late night snack. Making them was also a blast because you could eat them while they were still a little warm. Here is the recipe I always used to make my homemade treats. It’s simple and easy. Enjoy!
3 tablespoons butter
4 cups Miniature Marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
Add Rice Krispies cereal and stir until well coated.
Using a spatula evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares. Best if served the same day.
Summer has been a blast. I have loved the warmth, activities and going on a ton of trips. I would be happy if this season could last forever! This girl epitomizes that feeling of casually embracing the beautiful weather with her cheery yellow top and white pants.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful 4th of July weekend! I traveled to Cape Cod with my family and I’m having a blast. It is the perfect combination of family, delicious food and outside activities. Although today has been filled with indoor festivities due to bad weather. July 4th is one of the biggest holidays for my family because it’s a chance to get the whole family together without the pressure bigger holidays bring.
It’s a chance to relax in comfortable clothes that add a touch of patriotism. Wearing red, white and blue is a great way to get in theme! Many outfits in my suitcase are in those colors. This outfit is great for a casual night with skinny jeans with a touch of flair in the leopard heels.
Spring is one of my favorite coat seasons. Pale and bright colors start to bloom just like the flowers. They are a great way to show personality and spice up an outfit. Coats are one of those weaknesses of mine, and I can never say no to one that catches my heart. They are not as bad as my flip flop obsession but it’s a close second!
With Easter around the corner pastels have been popping up everywhere from candies to clothes. One of the popular color combinations is lavender and pink. These colors are irresistible to me because they bring up memories of Easter egg hunts and little girls in their Sunday best. This outfit would be perfect for spending time with your family before or after Easter.
Spring is officially here and that means goodbye heavy jackets and hello vests! They are my go to for when I need a little more warmth and are flattering by skimming your curves. You can get them in every color and pattern to mix and match with any outfit.
They are best in the spring and fall months when you are looking to add layers. Choosing a thinner vest lets you avoid too much bulk and then you can add a heaver sweater or button down underneath. I have to admit I have quite a few!
